Thank goodness for Carpet Fresh Super Pet. (No, I don’t work for the company ~ nor is this an advertisement.) I just happened to have a coupon, so I picked up a bottle at the grocery store this morning. I’m telling you ~ it works wonders. For some reason, our cat has decided to go to the bathroom on our upstairs carpeting instead of inside her litter box, and steam cleaning the carpet has only helped somewhat. I haven’t even been able to sleep in our bedroom lately because of the awful smell. :( Yesterday I vacuumed, steam cleaned, and then sprayed on some of the Carpet Fresh today. Our house smells *so* much better now. I wonder whether this stuff is available by the gallon? LOL! :) Little Beast is now living in our basement. We hate to do that, but … she just won’t stop peeing on our carpet. She’s due for a vet checkup, and maybe there’s a medical reason for it. She turns 10 in December, which is hard to believe! I think that we should have a 10th birthday party. :)
Guess how tired I was yesterday? After shopping at Wal-Mart, I pushed our cart into the parking lot and rifled through my purse in order to find my car keys. They weren’t there. I freaked out a little bit, but then I freaked out even *more* when I discovered that I had left the car keys right on *top* of my car! How scary is that? Anyone could have just driven off with our Toyota Matrix. And there I would have been, standing in the parking lot with two toddlers, no transportation, and no cell phone (I need to add new minutes to mine). I still can’t believe I did that. :(
By the way, Buy.com is having another awesome weekly sale. If you’re in the market for a new digital camera, maybe check out this Nikon for only $199. I’m a Canon girl, but that camera looks like fun. And this peridot necklace is really pretty. Sometimes I forget that Buy.com has jewelry, too! I’m excited about finding something neat for my mom’s birthday on the 27th. Shopping rocks, LOL! :)

I can totally sympathize about the darn cat pee. Mine has been doing it at the bottom of the basement steps off and on every since we had the basement finished five years ago. She has spent some time locked in her little box room and if she keeps it up she will again. I will have to try out the carpet fresh although I will have to tell you that I also really like the smell of the Woolite carpet cleaner. Glad your car was still there! I have done things like that too. The best was when I left the cordless phone on the bumper of the car and drove off. We never saw it again. LOL
I left my keys on my car once at Lani’s doctors office! I really wouldn’t mind if someone stole my car though, LOL!!
Our cats have also been peeing on our carpet!!!!! Maybe they are rebeling b/c the kids are our top priority? I’m so happy to hear about Carpet Fresh, I’m going to try it. Hubby has been using Febreze and the scent of that stuff makes me want to puke! He also puts aluminum foil all over the carpet to detur them. It’s just LOVELY, let me tell you.
Our basement renovation is almost finished, and we are also considering keeping our cats in the basement. *sigh*
I feel your pain about the cat thing. Tigger will spend all day outside sunning herself in the garden, and when I finally let her back in around 6pm, she will come straight in and pee/pooh RIGHT by the front door. I’m like, “What? You’re too posh to go in the garden? Dammit!” At least it’s tiles though so easier to clean and once clean, no lingering odours. But still she has so much wrong with her, but neither hubby nor I can take her to the vet for ‘the deed’. At least I’m sure she’s not in pain – at least not any obvious pain, otherwise I would take her. Ugh. Pets. They’re destined to break our hearts because of the shortness of their lifespans.
I have a friend who did all of her grocery shopping & when she went out to the car she had left it RUNNING the entire time she was inside!!!
Glad your car & keys were still there. :)
I heard that when a cat pees on the carpet they have a UTI or are sick. I would take her to the vet. She may be incontinent. The only reason I know this is I just took my cat to the vet and she was talking to me about it.
My girl kitty actually peed in the toilet once. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. She’s done it a few times since then. I thought that was odd. She’s a pretty smart kitty. My other cat won’t #2 in the box if it has poo in it. He will go next to the cat box. I don’t understand it. Cats are weird.
I have locked Pat in the car when he was a baby. I was getting out of the car to go around to get Pat. I set my keys on the seat. Then for some reasons I hit the lock. I felt like an idiot. It was the middle of summer. Lucky for me the firemen didn’t think I was crazy. Come to think of it, I have locked all of my children in the car at one point. LOL. I’ll never get mother of the year!
I’ve locked my keys in my car so many times. I’ve dropped my keys in the grocery store. I’ve lost my keys. That’s what happens when you are busy. You just forget the small stuff. It’s like your brain stops computing information after awhile.
LB peeing on the floor could be a sign of kidney stones or UTI. You may want to take her to the vet sooner rather than later. Sorry to hear that she has to live in the basement. Hope you guys find a remedy for the situation soon.
SO glad your keys were there! One of my fears is locking the keys in the car and being stranded with a kid (now kids). Love your new blog layout!
