Today is one of those “survival” days ~ where I’m so tired that I don’t count on getting anything done and am basically just trying to keep the status quo until the kids fall asleep tonight and I can head to bed, too. :) Last night, I knitted until 10:30 p.m. and drank a cup of Harney & Sons’ Paris tea right before bed (it’s caffeinated). Couldn’t fall asleep, of course. My throat was so scratchy, too, so I decided to take a little bit of Nyquil. Fell asleep, but then Jeff left for work very early this morning ~ which woke the kids up, and they were raring to go bright and early at 6:30 a.m. :( I’m totally dragging. I did manage to fold and put away a load of laundry, but that’s about it. I have to run two errands while Lucas is in preschool this afternoon, and I hope that I don’t fall asleep at the wheel.
Today is a special day for our friends Tricia and Jim … it’s their ninth wedding anniversary! Even in my sleepy state, I’m thinking about them and wishing them well. :)
Forgot to mention in yesterday’s blog entry that I’m taking a sock knitting class on January 24th! I’m way excited. So, attention friends and family … be prepared for a lot of ugly hand-knitted socks as gifts, LOL! :) Well, hopefully my socks will turn out OK. We’ll see. The owner of our local yarn store just called and said that I’ll need size six double-pointed needles. Two points? That scares me. But if it only takes a couple hours to learn to knit a pair of socks, that can’t be bad, right? I’m totally looking forward to an afternoon all to myself, too!

I hope you are able to get in some rest today.
My friend keeps trying to get me to knit socks. She does it and I followed along as she taught herself. One of these days I may try, but for now I have other things that are more intriguing to me. I hope you have a wonderful time at the class. DPNs scare me, but one I am sure I will buy a set soon.
Happy knitting!
Good luck with the class! I am klutzy with DPNs and I give you a lot of credit for diving right into socks! That is awesome! Hope you get to bed early tonight.
Sock knitting is very addictive!! and be scared of the DPN’s. You only knit on one at a time just like regular needles. The thing that always gets me is the kitchener stitch for the toes. I have to get out my cheat book every time and I’ve made a dozen or so pairs. I said it before adn I’ll say it again… it’s so cool you’re jumping right in!
oooops that should have been DON’T be scared ot DPN’s LOL
I think fatigue is going around like the flu! I’m so tired. My sleep schedule is way off. I have zero energy.
I hope you sleep well tonight.
Ooh! I LOVE knitting socks!!! But I am surprised you have to use such large size needles.. maybe it is just to teach.
Have a great time!
I can’t wait to hear about your knitting class! If you end up enjoying making socks, I can recommend a *really* awesome type of dpns. They are a bit expensive, but I really like them a lot. You will probably learn the slip stitch in your sock class! :)
Totally late, I know, but thank you for the anniversary wishes! I can’t believe next year is #10!!! Hopefully Jim will be home for that one.
